One of the key factors when trying to increase biodiversity in an area is providing a water supply. This can be done simply by adding a bird path, however ponds are an extremely important habitat and one that is under threat in the UK.
As we try to increase the number of animals using the nature trail I have decided to create a pond next to the hide area we are developing. I am hoping the pond will be approximately 10m x 10m and will provide for a whole new ecosystem in this part of the estate.
One of the obstacles I will be attempting to over come is the cost of creating the pond with the expense of the pond liner and new plants to be bought I will be attempting to source a little funding to ease the expense.
Here's hoping someone sees the same potential I do in the area!
